Corona Heroes

Posted by PIA Product team on Apr 11th 2020

Children are out of school. People are losing jobs. Many restaurants are closed, contributing to increased demand on grocery stores. Millions have been ordered to shelter in place. The United States is in the midst of an unprecedented time.

But from chaos comes heroes. From all walks of life. As a real-life Superman, Christopher Reeve once said, “A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.”

Despite so much uncertainty and with lives indefinitely upended, people and communities are still coming together to support one another, lending a hand through individual acts and large-scale efforts. Doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals on the front lines continue to work each day, as do those employed in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, adult day care centers and senior facilities. Police and Fire departments are still keeping us safe. Garbage and recycling services continue to pick up. Public transportation is still running. Utilities, like water, power and gas, internet and telecommunications are making stay at home orders more convenient than we may realize. Additional people who provide essential services for the rest of us, including staff at Gas stations, Pharmacies, Grocery and Convenience stores, Restaurants for delivery, takeout and drive-thru, Hardware stores, and Banks continue to serve us. Products continue to be manufactured, and supply chains are functioning because of the people who keep them flowing. Newspapers, television, radio and other media outlets provide us vital information. Businesses that provide shelter and/or social services like food banks and charitable organizations continue to look out for the most vulnerable.

At PIA Products, we want to give Thanks with Thanks. If you’ve got colleagues and team members going above and beyond during this time, or friends and family who you want to reward for their actions, use the code “coronaheroes” at checkout, and all net profit from the order will be donated to Unicef USA and their fight against Covid-19.

As John F. Kennedy once said, “We must find time to stop and thank the people who make a difference in our lives.”
